Grevillea species are native Australian plants that are quick growing and have beautiful flowers that attract birds and insects into the garden. There are many different varieties out there including small trees, shrubs and even ground covers. They are very hardy plants and adapt to long period of drought. My favourites include Grevillea ‘Moonlight’ and Grevillea curviloba.
When planting dig a hole twice the size of the pot. If you're planting into sandy soil, add some organic matter such as mushroom compost or manure. Water in well and stand back and watch them grow! Prune off any dead branches as they appear and tip prune for a compact shape.
